ENCINITAS HOSTS 2ND ANNUAL WELLNESS WEEK
ENCINITAS, January 2011 – Encinitas, the San Diego community known as a mecca for Yoga, natural healthcare and fitness, is hosting its 2nd annual Wellness Week, a week-long dedication to all things wellness, Sunday, January 22 thru Saturday, January 28, 2012. Everyone is invited to partake in this opportunity to get started on some of those New Year’s resolutions and find new ways to improve their overall physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
This truly unique week-long program of free events and special offers is a combined effort of the Downtown Encinitas MainStreet Association (DEMA) and North County Health Services (NCHS) and is sponsored by eLiveLife, Scripps, Community Health Group, Delicious Buzz, Care 1st and the Encinitas Branch of the San Diego County Library. The week will commence with an Opening Day Expo on Sunday the 22nd from 1-4pm at the Encinitas Library. Enjoy free treatment samples (acupuncture, chiropractic, Reiki), free demonstrations (yoga, pilates, cooking), and free health screenings and exams.
The week’s events range from daily free yoga classes to a Wellness Tour through the new Encinitas Whole Foods Market. If that doesn’t get your heart pumping, you can also learn how to make raw chocolate, watch the film “Food Inc.”, attend a Tibetan Sound Healing concert… or do all of the above. This week there is truly something for everyone, whether a dedicated health-nut or a wellness newbie. So, be sure to snag a copy of the highly-anticipated Wellness Week Guide, now available at the DEMA office, other participating organizations, on Facebook or CHECK OUT THE FLIPBBOOK VERSION BELOW. In the Guide, you’ll find all event details, offers and discounts – some that last beyond the official Wellness Week.
Finally, join us in celebrating a healthier lifestyle at the Closing Day Festival on Saturday the 28th from 10am to 2pm at Moonlight Beach. Visit the expo in the main parking lot, featuring dozens of exhibitors, food, music, and performances. Enjoy everything from a beach workout or a volleyball clinic to a Wellness Walk around downtown Encinitas, where participating merchants will welcome you to drop in for wellness classes, demos, treatments and special offers.
